Home About Us Ice Cream Media Favorite Links FAQ

Ice cream photoMany of our ice cream flavors are named for special Guernsey cows that have been a part of our farm and our lives. In fact, every Guernsey has a name on registration paper (similar to a birth certicate). Not only do we produce the ice cream at our farm, but we also know every cow whose cream goes into that container! It is a pleasure to describe Ayars Family Farm flavors and some of our cow stories associated with them.

“GENUINE” Vanilla
At the first bite, you realize it is vanilla and the flecks really authenticate this creamy confection.  It is named for “Genuine” who just happens to be the matriarch of our herd.  With a very long pedigree, she has traveled in many states as far as California! Lucas refers to her as his very favorite cow.  Plus she is featured on our container.
Chocolate
In a mild and a stronger flavor, it is as rich as a truffle!  “CHOCOLATE” was a part of herd a few years back and her personality was as “rich” as this flavor.
Signature Strawberry
Indeed one of the first flavors we developed and thus the name signature was attached as we recall our early efforts.  Quality is packed in each container and our signature assures you of this.
Snickerdoodle
It's just like the cookie.  “SNICKERDOODLE” is a cow with a spicy personality!  Often the first in the barn to be milked, she is also a “busy body.”
“White Chocolate Rasberry”
Quite simply, this is a unique flavor! Once it touches your taste buds, you are a fan.  Smooth and tart at the same time.  “RASPBERRY” the cow is remembered in just that likeness.  The memory of her brings a smile to my face…just like this flavor.
Caramel
Life cannot be lived without such a flavor.  In fact, we like it so much that you will find it included in our other flavors.  “CARAMEL” was a cow who was nearly a solid golden color with just a touch of white.   She too mixed well with her herd mates and people who came in contact with her!
Caramel & Pecans
A perennial favorite with our customers.  In fact, at one time we had a cow named “PECAN” who was also here at the same time as “CARAMEL!”
Peanut Butter
You gotta love this creamy indulgence with a touch a caramel.  Serve it up with chocolate to show your “Buckeye” pride.  “BUTTER” was a cow that we purchased from a herd in Wisconsin.  She had two sets of twins and you can only imagine the names of her daughters!
Mint Chocolate Chip
One of America’s most beloved flavors and ours is quite special with Andes mints.  I could do little to add much to this lengthy name.  However, we have had cows named Mint, Chocolate, and Chip!
Chunky Cookie
This flavor chip cookies made with large chunks of semi sweet and milk chocolate and a touch of toffee bits all set in a background of a brown sugar and caramel. Cookie was a cow, a few years back, who had quite an appetite that was reflected in her "chunky" appearance. No doubt, she would have sampled this flavor with curiosity.
Wedding Cake
It has been a rather new taste pleasure to be used. Some can be very sweet, but ours is not. The sprinkles on top remind you that it celebrates a special day. In the barn, "Wedding Lace" is just over three years old and she was born on the day that our middle son was married.
Pumpkin (seasonal flavor)
Although we think of "Pumpkin" for the fall and Thanksgiving, it is appreciated year round. It is not uncommon that we address baby calves as "lil pumpkins".
Sweetheart Swirl (seasonal flavor)
It was our attempt to mark a day dedicated to love. With double chocolate hugged by raspberry, it was love at my first bite. In a short time, I had finished the entire pint!
